Take care of your Thoughts because they become Words.
Take care of your Words because they will become Actions.
Take care of your Actions because they will become Habits.
Take care of your Habits because they will form your Character.
Take care of your Character because it will form your Destiny,
and your Destiny will be your Life…
This quote has been attributed to the Dalai Lama, but I have been unable to confirm it. Regardless of who said it, it is a message worth considering–especially as we begin a new year.
So what will be your destiny?
This is such a big question that it is almost paralyzing to think about it, isn’t it?
But it doesn’t have to be …
Most of us don’t begin our adult lives with a clear idea of our destiny–we discover it, over time, as a result of the choices we make each day.
Perhaps you can just consider the following:
- What kind of person do I want to be today?
- What can I learn today that will help me grow?
- What kind of actions/experiences can I take or do today to get me one step closer to my finding my destiny?
When you approach discovering your destiny this way it seems much more manageable–at least to me.
What do you think?
