About

Glad you dropped by … I’m Cheryl Craigie and I’m a former broadcasting and foundation executive who has successfully built the life of my dreams. I want to help you do the same. (The cute one is Boo Boo, my sheltie, who is the best dog ever and contributes greatly to my quality of life.)

My goal is to provide you with the inspiration, information, tools and techniques you need to create the life you want. Don’t settle for someone else’s version of a successful life–build your own!

This blog is called The Manageable Life because I believe that in order to build the life you want you must first take small, manageable steps to remove the stuff in your life that takes up space in your home, your office and perhaps most importantly, in your mind. Only then, when you have created space in your life to think about what you really want, can you move forward.

I’ll be covering topics ranging from achieving balance, containing life’s chaos, designing a life, and managing dollars and sense (yes, that’s the correct word). I’ll also be sharing inspirational quotes, thoughts about life in general,  recommended reading, and other resources you may find helpful. Occasionally you might read about something  just because I think it’s cool …

When I retired for the first time at 42 years old, my friends and family wanted to know how I did it. They wanted to know how a driven executive could retire to the  mountains of North Carolina and be happy living “in the middle of nowhere” after enjoying the big city life in places like Philadelphia, Chicago, and Dallas.  Here’s the stream that runs behind my home.

Everyday, when I look out and see this view, I know I made the right decision.

So, join me as I share what I’ve learned along the way and don’t forget to sign up to receive this blog via email or RSS. Please share your reactions to the blog in the comments section of each post or contact me directly by using the contact form accessed through the navigation menu. I look forward to hearing from you.
